Massachusetts Disability Task Force: Conversation with Alex Green

On May 5, 2026, the Massachusetts Disability Task Force hosted a compelling virtual meeting with Alex Green, award-winning author of A Perfect Turmoil: Walter E. Fernald and the Struggle to Care for America’s Disabled and Dan Minnich, Executive Director of Waypoint Adventure. Alex discussed the history of the Fernald State School in Waltham and advocacy campaigns to protect the rights of former Fernald residents and their families; Dan described Waypoint’s popular disability history hikes on the public lands in and around Fernald. The Foundation supports the administrative functions of the Disability Task Force, a networking and professional development organization for Massachusetts disability professionals.
